News For Christians is celebrating its tenth year of existence.   We began on a free server in December 1997 with a goal of sharing sermons and outlines and helping readers easily find news headlines of interest to Christians.  We continue with that same goal today.  There is no monetary profit to this site, nor is that our goal even today.

This site is the work of one individual, Robert L. Cobb.  I am a 50 year-old husband and father of four grown children.  I am a born-again Christian and member of an Independent Baptist church in the little town of Blacksburg, SC.  I live nearby, in the somewhat larger town of Gaffney.  I am a 21 year employee of Parker-Hannifin in Kings Mountain NC, a pump manu- facturing plant.  I attended college at Spartanburg Technical College in Spartanburg, SC and went to Bible college at a now-defunct satellite campus of

As a lay preacher, I have studied the Bible all my adult life.  I have, in the past, taught the adult Sunday School class at my church, designing my own course of studies.  I have always been interested in preaching and public-speaking, especially the old classics from the great preachers of the past.  Our collection of classic sermons at News For Christians is growing every month.

This year, I hope to expand the classic sermon collection, adding some new preachers to the list.  In April, we added one of my personal favorites, J. Wilbur 
Chapman.  I hope others will follow soon.
