National Security, Not Religion, Behind Travel Restrictions, President Trump Says
President Donald Trump defended his executive order restricting the citizens of predominantly Muslim countries of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the country, saying it's about national security and not religion. "America is a proud nation of immigrants and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression, but we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border," Trump said in a statement on Sunday. "America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave. We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say." He added, "This is not about religion — this is about terror and keeping our country safe. There are over 40 different countries worldwide that are majority Muslim that are not affected by this order." ...

Matt Lewis: The Conflict Cutting to the Souls of Christian Conservatives
We are “citizens of heaven,” he said, which doesn’t mean Christians shouldn’t be good, patriotic Americans. But it does suggest (as the old Hebrew National commercial used to boast), “We answer to a higher authority.” This may not be consistent with the Steve Bannon-ian “nationalism” that always puts “America First.” ....
Robert Spencer: Leftists Determined to Stop Trump from Defending America

Half-Shekel Tithe for Re-Building the Temple Reinstated by the Sanhedrin After 2,000 Years
After a 2,000 moratorium, it is now possible for a Jew anywhere in the world to perform the mitzvah (commandment) of paying the half-shekel, a Biblically-mandated tax incumbent on every Jew to finance the day-to-day operations of the Temple.  There are now two ways to perform this commandment: one method for people who can hand-deliver their offering, and another for those who can’t.....

David Mathis: Do You Exercise for the Wrong Reasons?
...It wasn’t until as recently as 1974 that two independent groups first discovered and documented this long-undiscovered divine kindness tucked quietly inside the human brain. Endorphins, and their effect of bodily pleasure, subconsciously incline humans toward certain activities, like raucous laughter or spicy foods. But in particular, the most notable and discussed is “vigorous aerobic exercise.”....

How Should Christians Deal With Mental Illness?
-Jack Wellman    ...Perhaps the best way to look at mental illness is the way you look at any other illness. Often the illness is not self-induced, so people are frequently an innocent victim of their circumstances. With mental illness, this too is not usually self-induced, and like any other illness, there is a physiological cause for it. It could be a simple chemical imbalance in the brain, it could be from some unknown cause like an undetectable aneurysm, it could be from a brain injury or deformity at birth, and so......

David Platt: How to Respond to the Refugee Crisis
The scope of today’s refugee crisis is truly unprecedented, affecting nearly 60 million people. Never before have so many been displaced, put in danger, and forced from their homes. In Syria alone, more than half of 22 million people have either been displaced or killed. More than 4 million have fled to neighboring countries. I share these numbers to remind us of the sheer enormity of this crisis. Much of our response to the refugee crisis seems to come from a foundation of fear, not faith. ...

After a few weeks of pretty deep depression I’m beginning to see the light again...It’s a bit difficult to trace back when I started going off the rails. Stanley Hauerwas: Christians, Don’t Be FooledTrump Has Deep Religious Convictions
Many Americans appear ready to give President Trump a pass when it comes to his lack of religious knowledge, sensibilities or behavior, but I think that’s a mistake. His piety is formed by his understanding of what makes America a country like no other.....
David Kjos: Final Witness
I  am dying. I don’t know exactly when, but sometime—I’ll be gone. This may come as hard news, but the same thing is happening to you. We’re all dying. That’s why I’ve begun planning my funeral. I’ve been thinking about it off and on for several years, but it’s a job that is probably better done sooner than later, so I’ve decided to put my wishes on the record before it’s too late. I have some very particular ideas about what a Christian funeral should be, and I want to be sure mine will fit that description. ...
Sinclair Ferguson: The Early Symptoms of Spiritual Danger
....On occasion, we wonder if an individual really has been converted. And sometimes we have an inexplicable, ill-defined sense that something is missing. But we cannot read the heart. Even so, we hear of friends—whose faith we never doubted—turning away from Christ. Apostasy is the old, vigorous word to describe this abandonment of Christ. The New Testament church was familiar with it. ....

We are now a full generation into the legal acceptance and popularization of abortion on demand here in America. Paul Koch:How Apps Have Taught Us To Despise Religion
It has now been ten years since Steve Jobs stood before a large crowd at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, said “We’re going to make some history here today,” and changed the landscape of personal electronics. It’s been ten years since he revolutionized how we interact with computers. For on January 9, 2007, he unveiled the iPhone, and nothing has quite been the same since. Most of us now carry around in our pockets a computer more powerful than we could have imagined ten years ago. We now have all the wisdom of the ages within our reach, and all we’ve had to do was learn how to master it. So, over the past ten years we have seen more apps for organizing our thoughts and interactions.....It has been a fun ten years, but it hasn’t come without a cost. The great cultural critic Neil Postman famously wrote that all technology is a “Faustian bargain. Technology giveth and technology taketh away.” For all of the advantages we have reaped over the past ten years since the introduction of the iPhone, there have been some disadvantages, as well....

March for Life: Trump Alliance With Pro-Lifers Takes Center Stage
Members of President Donald Trump's administration took to the main stage of the 44th annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C., declaring their support for the pro-life movement. At the rally, held Friday at the National Mall, the large gathering of pro-life activists heard speeches from prominent administration officials. This included former Indiana governor Mike Pence, who with his speech became the first-ever sitting vice president to address the March for Life in person. Pence, who has spoken at the March for Life in past years before becoming vice president, told those gathered that "life is winning again in America." "Life is winning through the steady advance of science, that illuminates when life begins more and more every day. Life is winning through the generosity of millions of adopted families who open their hearts and homes to children in need," stated Pence.  Also representing the administration was Kellyanne Conway....S...

Acton Institute: Exercise Of Economic Liberty Is The Exercise Of Religious Liberty
Commonly, many don’t associate economic liberty and religious liberty together. Essentially, the two topics are split and are championed by several different groups; whom of which, have very different intentions. However, is it possible to amalgamate the two ideas? The short answer, in my analysis on this paradigm, is “yes.”  “But, why?”....
Bill Randles:The Effects Of Legal Abortion on Womanhood
We are now a full generation into the legal acceptance and popularization of abortion on demand here in America. I think one of the under-reported aspects of this watershed change  imposed upon our society is the impact it has had on the women who accept and celebrate it....Who could have imagined in the 1940s and 50’s, let alone 100 years ago, that American women would march in support of the slaughter of innocent children, the rejection of the Patriarchy, and proudly proclaim, as many have been doing lately, that they have had abortions! The irony of this latest display of hysterically enraged feminism, the “Million Woman March on Washington”, is......
Wally Morris: 'Settled? … Maybe Not'
Should we accept that a moral issue has reached the point where continuing to fight for Biblical standards is not a wise use of our time and resources? That is the question Christians face as President Trump seems uninterested in the issue of homosexual marriage, calling it “settled law”. In his acceptance speech at last year’s Republican Convention, Trump specifically and publicly acknowledged his.....

Michelle Malkin: Ultrasound— A Big Bugaboo For the Anti-Science Left
....Now, it's radical feminists hysterically stoking fear and loathing of machines. Revolutionary developments in sonography have endangered their agenda of unrestricted abortion on demand, at all times, no questions asked. The popular diagnostic tools that give parents and doctors around the world an increasingly vivid window to the womb fundamentally undermine Planned Parenthood's dehumanizing propaganda. With more and more pregnant women over the past three decades changing their minds about abortion after seeing and hearing the life growing inside of them, the peeved pussyhat brigade is on a mission: Ultrasounds. Must. Be. Stopped. The latest salvo in the wimmin's war on sinister sonograms? It's a doozy of a screed this week published by Moira Weigel, "writer and a doctoral candidate in comparative literature at Yale University," in the Atlantic Monthly magazine originally titled, "How the Ultrasound Pushed the Idea that a Fetus is a Person."....

Does Donald Trump's Election Only Postpone a European 'Socialist Paradise'?
A ministry leader believes the election of Donald Trump has given America a "reprieve" from the curse other countries are experiencing with their continued bad treatment of Israel.  In the waning days of the Obama presidency, French President Francois Hollande hosted what amounted to a 70-nation Israel-bashing summit. Hollande, along with his German counterpart Angela Merkel, are both in political trouble in their bids for re-election this year because of their willingness to allow unfettered Islamic immigration. Jan Markell, founder of Olive Tree Ministries, says Jews are suffering as a result – and that it's "too far gone" to do much of anything about it in those two countries. "About 25,000 Jews have left France for Israel in recent years because leaders like Hollande and Merkel have destroyed Europe," she tells OneNewsNow. "These nations are becoming as much Islamic as they are German or French."   She describes the philosophy as "socialist insanity."...
