Christian Headlines: Should Infanticide be Legal? This Professor Thinks So
A professor in the department of ecology and human evolution at the University of Chicago said in a blog that killing disabled infants is the same as aborting a fetus before it is born. “If you are allowed to abort a fetus that has a severe genetic defect, microcephaly, spina bifida, or so on, then why aren’t you able to euthanize that same fetus just after it’s born?” he writes in his Why Evolution Is True blog.

CBN News: Chinese Government— Give Up Your Faith, Or Else
It is officially illegal to be a person of faith in China's communist party. That's according to a new statement released by the country's State Administration for Religious Affairs.  "Party members should not have religious beliefs, which is a red line for all members", wrote Wang Zuoan, director of the religious affairs administration.  Instead, Marxism and the party's politics is to be each member's belief system....Communist leaders say the party's recent crack down on faith is due to it's powerful influence.
Michael Brown: Yes, Gay Activists Want to Punish Christian Conservatives
Call me paranoid if you like, but I’m simply quoting what Tim Gill, the foremost LGBT political donor says in his own words: “We're going into the hardest states in the country,” he declares. “We're going to punish the wicked,” by which he means Christian conservatives. In short, if you will not comply with LGBT activism, be it as a minister or as a businessperson, you will be punished. That is Gill’s goal, and to deny it is to be in denial. According to Rolling Stone magazine, which interviewed Gill last month, he is the “Megadonor Behind the LGBTQ Rights Movement” who “turned a $500 million fortune into the nation's most powerful force for LGBTQ rights.”

Peter Barry Chowka: Charlie Gard— It Can't Happen Here— Or Can It?
Charlie Gard has, in effect, been medically kidnapped by the socialist National Health Service bureaucracy that has lined up with the British medical establishment to assert the primacy of the state’s rights over the parents’ rights to determine the fate of a minor child. In Britain, the state essentially owns the child, and the experience faced by Charlie Gard and his parents has brought that outrageous situation clearly to light.
Thomas S. Kidd: Politics and What It Means to Be an ‘Evangelical’
....I have long been on record as being opposed to Donald Trump (though Hillary Clinton was not an acceptable alternative). But this idea of people leaving their evangelical church because the majority of self-identified white “evangelicals” support Trump seems out of whack to me. What did you start going to your evangelical church for in the first place?
David Archibald: The Nazi Origins of Renewable Energy (and Global Warming)
Why study history, and such an ugly subject as the Nazi rise in the Weimar Republic?  Because, quoting George Santayana, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.  It seems we have forgotten a lot, because, as a civilization, we are repeating the mad Nazi schemes of renewable energy on a massive scale.
David Cloud: Be Careful About Video Games
Video games are very addictive and they are great time wasters. Also many of them have very wicked content. Even the more innocent games use rock music as a background, thus addicting young people to the sensual rock rhythms. If young people are allowed to play video games, they must be carefully chosen and the play time must be strictly limited by the parents.
Jerry Sivnksty: Right and Wrong Motives In the Ministry
....It would be well for all of us to examine our lives and evaluate our motives in serving the Lord. Are we trying to impress people? Are we trying to build a name? Are we trying to manipulate people to see what we can get out of them? In our preaching, are we trying to create an atmosphere by playing on people’s emotions? Do we want the spotlight on us?
Thomas Overmiller: The Most Sensible Explanation For the Origins of Life
....For all the talk and so-called science that goes on, Bible Christianity offers the most reasonable explanation. An eternal, moral God created all things out of nothing (Gen. 1:1; 2:4; Heb. 11:3; Rev. 4:11). Then he created mankind, to whom he a material body, but also gave life, consciousness, and a conscience (Gen. 1:27; 2:7; Eccl. 12:7; 1 Cor. 15:45-47).
Ron Edmondson: Wanting To Be Led vs. Wanting To Be a Leader
There is a big difference the way you lead someone who wants to be led and how you lead someone who wants to be a leader. It requires a different approach. The person who wants to be led desires structure. They want to follow the rules. They need someone to tell them how to do what you want done....The person who wants to be a leader needs space to dream, freedom to explore, and permission to experiment. He or she desires less direction and more encouragement. They continually need new challenges. They get bored easily.

President Donald Trump said that House and Senate Republicans shouldn’t leave Washington D.C. for their August recess until they have passed something on Obamacare. “Inaction is not an option, and frankly I don’t think we should leave town unless we have a health insurance plan, unless we can give people great health care,” Trump said after meeting Senate Republicans for lunch at the White House.
Minister: Israel Will Now Act to Reestablish Jewish Sovereignty Over Temple Mount
The Islamic Waqf’s jurisdiction over the Temple Mount is over and Israel will now work to reestablish Jewish sovereignty over the holy site, said Knesset Member Avi Dichter (Likud) on Tuesday. “The question of our policy [at the Temple Mount] may not be clear to the Palestinians, but it is very clear to us… The Mount will remain under the control of the Israel Police.”
Ted Noel, M.D.:Charlie Gard Is the Face of Single-Payer
.....When Charlie Gard entered Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, England's single-payer health system, the National Health Service, took over.  At first, it seemed that this was a good thing, since his parents didn't have to pay extra for his care.  But they didn't have a choice.  They weren't in the small minority who are either wealthy enough or favorably employed to access private insurance.
CBN News: Quiet Prevails as Hundreds Visit the Temple Mount
Israel Police temporarily closed the Temple Mount on Wednesday after several Jewish visitors did not comply with standard procedures there. Though the Temple Mount is Judaism's holiest site, neither Jews nor Christians are permitted to pray there, a privilege reserved for Muslims only. Several Israeli media agencies claimed Jews had been barred from the Temple Mount, but Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told CBN News it was open to visitors all morning outside of the brief interlude.....It all took place on the day the Palestinian Authority's Fatah faction called for a "Day of Rage." Instead, hundreds of visitors, tourists and Muslims cooperated with the new security arrangements to enter the Temple Mount.

Mark A. Hewitt: Redefining 'Transgenderism' as Normal Behavior
In December 2012, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) announced changes to its official guide to classifying mental illnesses. Gender identity disorder had been classified for decades in their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) as a mental disorder. The new DSM eliminated “gender identity disorder” and replaced it with a new term, “gender dysphoria.” Dysphoria is the distress a person experiences as a result of the sex and gender they were assigned at birth.
Tim Challies: Master Your Finances
I have a love-hate relationship with money. I love the good things money can accomplish. I love how it can be used to provide for my needs and the needs of my wife and children. I love how it can be used to support God’s work in the world...Yet I hate the way money can hold me captive, the way it subtly promises what only God can deliver. I hate how quickly it leaves my hands in an endless torrent of bills, payments, and expenses. Money is a joy and money is a burden. The bank account may be in your name, but it’s not actually your money. The deed to your home may have your first and last name printed at the top, but your house doesn’t truly belong to you. You came into this world naked and empty-handed, and you’ll leave this world naked and empty-handed. All that you enjoy between birth and death is a gift. It belongs to God but is assigned to your care.  This is known as stewardship.
Don Johnson: Counting the Cost of Letting Your Light Shine
..... Christians who consider entering the “worldly” fields (as opposed to the “spiritual” fields such as pastor, evangelist, Christian school teacher, etc.) need to think soberly about the path they might choose and seriously count the cost.
Kent Brandenburg: No Two Biblical Manuscripts Are The Same? Old and New Testament Evidence
Have you heard the oft-repeated assertion that "no two Biblical manuscripts are the same?"  It is one of the most often-repeated arguments by enemies of the God of Scripture and opponents of perfect preservation.  However, it is simply false. There are early copies that are identical to the later printed texts.
David Cloud: The Parable of the Fire Alarm
.....In spite of the fierce criticism aimed at the alarm and the alarmist, the fire could not be totally ignored once attention had been brought to bear in such a public manner.
Peter Mead: The Difference Between Exegesis and Exposition
What is the difference between exegesis and exposition? Haddon Robinson put it this way, “Exposition is drawing from your exegesis to give your people what they need to understand the passage.” This implies that the preacher will have a lot more material after the exegesis than they are able to present in the sermon.  Here are three implications for us to ponder:
Thom Rainer: Ten Roadblocks to Church Revitalization
You have seen the data. You know that two-thirds of our churches are plateaued or declining. Even more, among the declining churches are those that are on the precipice of closing, following the pattern of tens of thousands of other churches that have already closed. Why? Why are so many of our churches not moving forward? Since so many of our churches are in need of revitalization, let’s begin by seeing what roadblocks hinder turnarounds. Here are ten of the most common.....
Deepak Reju: 12 Ways to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse
.....If you pay any attention to the news, you are well aware that sexual offenders show up in churches, predators hunting defenseless prey, who do unspeakably horrible things to our children. Much of what is done could be prevented, but many churches are ignorant about how to protect their children and about how to respond when child sexual abuse happens at church. It all adds up to being irresponsible with the littlest ones that God has entrusted to our care. Why do churches fail our kids?

We will stand without apology for Israel tomorrow and President Donald Trump and I will stand with Israel always. Of that you may be assured,” the keynote speaker said, receiving a standing ovation. Holmes: Why Your Smartphone Is a Direct Threat to Your Friendships
.....Now, I do have real life friends...But no one can be as available to me as an object that I own. No actual person can ride around in my pocket during the day, sit on top of my nightstand at night, and ride in my cup holder everywhere I go. If I called one of my best friends at 3 AM just because I couldn’t sleep, her husband would assuredly object; if I called the other and mindlessly talked to her until the wee hours of the morning, I don’t think her boss would be happy...Our smartphones don’t have any needs other than to be used by us.

And so many of our adversaries and enemies know that. That’s what we’re facing all across the Middle East and, truthfully, all across the world.”

Christopher Chantrill: Why Is the Left So Anti-Baby?

Susan Stamper Brown: Why the Media Hates Trump
As the drumbeat to oust President Trump reaches near fever pitch, it is important for all fair-minded Americans to understand if that happens, America as we know it is finished ... done.
E. Jeffrey Ludwig: Knowing the Difference Between True Liberty and Fake Liberty
....So, in order to avoid the pitfall of mistaking license for liberty, this writer will try to remember to consistently link liberty with God's grace.  We're told in Scripture that he whom the Lord sets free is free indeed.  Jesus quotes Isaiah saying that he, the Messiah, has come to set the captives free.  Yet clearly there is a difference in meaning between the "liberty" that flowed out of the godless, anti-clerical French Revolution and the liberty that was engendered and established by the U.S. Constitution.
Michael Lawrence: The False Gospel of Nice
.....Perhaps the main way we teach nice is how we present Christ. We commend him and the gospel as a method of self-improvement. It’s not that we fail to talk about the cross or even sin; it’s that sin is presented as a problem primarily for how it messes up our lives and relationships and gets in the way of our goals.  Jesus is presented as the one who will change all that. We tell people he will make a...

J.A. Medders: Seven Promises to Pray Against Porn
....In our ever-connected world, when we are a flick and click away from danger, we can call God’s word to mind at a higher speed than any page can load. But you have to call it to mind. When the temptations circle, we have to stop, crack our knuckles, dig in our heels, and believe the Bible. These seven verses can serve as an attack plan, a Messiah-taught martial art against lust and pornography.

The archaeologists discovered the samples at a large, ancient Edomite copper smelting site and nearby temple in the Timna Valley, a desert region in southern Israel. They date the cloth from the 13th to 10th centuries B.C. The fabric was so well dyed that even now the original colors are visible. The discovery, reported in Plos One, highlights several aspects of cultural life in the Timna Valley at that time. It shows highly skilled weavers made the fabric and that it could not have been produced in the Timna region....

Denny Burk: Standing Against a Destructive Misogyny Threatening Our Children
Sexual perversion is firmly entrenched in our cultural mainstream, so it takes a lot these days to astonish me. But I am astonished today. Georgi Boorman: Oregon’s New Abortion Law Proves The Left Doesn’t Care About Consent
.....The audacity of the radicals who wrote this bill is breathtaking. Elected Democrats don’t just want to force all Oregonians to finance abortions (for literally any reason—Oregon has the most unregulated abortion industry in the nation), but they’re calling it an emergency. Nor do they care that a good portion of their constituents don’t want to pay for a procedure they find morally repugnant...
J.D. Greear: Marriage Is Not About You— Divorce Is All About You
Divorce is not usually the problem. It’s the fruit of the problem; the root is a life that is self-centered. The problem is that people go into marriage looking for someone to complete them or make them happy, and when their spouse quits doing that or gets difficult to live with or they meet someone they think might do it better for them, they get divorced.
Sinclair Ferguson: Alienation from God
..... It should not surprise us that therapy cannot solve the world’s ills. Neither should we expect it to. Therapy that takes no account of man’s deepest problem—sin—can never resolve man’s deepest alienation—his broken relationship with God. A socioeconomic theory cannot bring world-scale or individual reconciliation when the basic problem is moral. Treating sinful behavior as a medical category...
David Cloud: The Independent Baptist Mutual Admiration Society of Compromise
I am deeply concerned about the rapidly-growing compromise among independent Baptists. After I was saved in 1973, I didn’t know where to go to church. I was led to Christ by a Pentecostal man who went on his way the next day, and I have never seen him again. I began to study the Bible diligently, visit churches, listen to Christian radio, and read books, seeking God’s will about church membership. I knew that I wasn’t going back to the Southern Baptist Convention that I had grown up in, because they simply....
Unlocking the Bible: When a Christian Leader Fails You
Leaders in the church aren’t exempt from sin. No one is. We don’t expect perfect people to lead our congregations, create our resources, and speak into our culture. But we do expect them to uphold the Bible’s authority. We do want them to remain faithful to Christ. So what are we to do when a respected Christian leader fails the church, in any context? How are we to respond?
Justin Taylor: What Did It Mean to ‘Hit the Sawdust Trail’?
By 1901, the pro-baseball-player-turned-revivalist Billy Sunday was popular enough that construction of large wood tabernacles would begin to be constructed months in advance of his revival. They were large enough to hold up to 10 percent of a population in a smaller city, and up to 20,000 people in major cities. The aisles of the earthen floor of the tabernacle were covered with sawdust, which accomplished several purposes. It was less expensive than constructing temporary wooden floors. In an age before air conditioning--or antiperspirants!--it could be swept out and refreshed with a fresh new smell throughout the tabernacle.

Michael Snyder: The Most Unusual Solar Eclipse In U.S. History Will Happen Next Month On August 21
August 21st is the date of “the Great American Eclipse”, and the hype around it is already starting to reach a fever pitch. It is being called “the Great American Eclipse” because this will be the first total solar eclipse ever that is only visible in the United States. In other words, since the United States became a nation there has never been a total eclipse that was only visible here and nowhere else. And this will be the first total solar eclipse to cross from the west coast to the east coast in 99 years. So for those that love astronomy, this is bigger than the Super Bowl. Close to 200 million people live within a day’s drive of “the totality zone”, and many are projecting that this will be the most-viewed eclipse ever. In fact, many hotels and campsites along the path of the eclipse are already completely booked. So if you want to see it live, you better make arrangements quickly.

CBN News: The Coming Solar Eclipse— What the Bible Tells Us About This Phenomenon
A solar eclipse is set to pass over the United States on August 21.  It’s a big deal because one hasn’t been visible from the continental United States in 37 years and one hasn’t passed over the country in almost 100 years.  A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out a significant chunk of the Sun’s rays. So what does the Bible have to say about this strange natural occurrence? There’s passages scattered throughout scripture that talk about the sun being blacked out or darkness descending...
Christian Post: Cuban Pastor Punished With 1-Year Heavy Labor for Homeschooling His Children In Evangelical Faith
An Evangelical pastor in Cuba has been sentenced to one year of heavy labor and house arrest for defying the Communist government and insisting that his children be homeschooled. International Christian Concern reported on Thursday that Pastor Ramon Rigal, leader of Iglesia de Dios en Cristo, has openly stated that his decision to take his children out of state-run schools was based on his Christian faith. As Diario de Cuba noted last week, Rigal had originally been sentenced by Guantanamo courts to one year imprisonment....
Christian Headlines: Dangerous ‘Do it Yourself’ Abortions On the Rise
Abortionist rights activists are now promoting “do it yourself” abortions, in which women have access to abortion-inducing drugs they can take at home. LifeNews.com reports that abortion supporters allege that since the number of abortion providers has dropped in the U.S. due to more pro-life legislation, there is an increased demand for abortion, and one way to meet this demand is to make ....
Brown: Christian Leaders, Please Speak the Truth About Homosexuality Plainly and With Love
To my brothers and sisters in ministry, I appeal to you in the sight of God: Please speak plainly and clearly when it comes to homosexuality, and please do so with compassion and love. At this critical time in history, we’ve got no business dancing around these life and death issues, issues which affect people we love. We’ve got no business playing games with words, trying to be so subtle that no one understand us, working so hard not to offend that we fail to warn and save. We’ve got no business being unclear when God’s Word....
Christian Headlines: Archaeologists Discover Evidence of Naboth’s Vineyard, Referenced in Bible
An archaeologist in Israel has shared an exciting new discovery that seems to validate the Bible’s account of a man named Naboth and his ownership of a vineyard. The Christian Post reports that Dr. Norma Franklin, one of the leaders of the Jezreel Expedition, confirmed that the Jezreel Valley was a wine-producing region, as the Bible says it is.
Dudley Hall: The Church and the Media
Thinking “Christianly” about the current concern over the media forces us to ask the question: What is the God-ordained role of media? I suppose this begs the question of whether there is a God-ordained role for the media.  Or government, or any other societal institution.
Joseph Farah: 'You Didn't Build That'— Five Years Later
It’s been five years since Barack Obama, during a re-election campaign speech, told entrepreneurs they weren’t really responsible for the successful businesses they built. It was July 13, 2012, while campaigning in Virginia, Obama made the statement....The immediate negative reaction to Obama’s astonishing remarks was swift...Reflecting on this speech five years later, though, it hit me right between the eyes that there’s a much bigger point no one made at the time.
Andy Naselli: 12 Principles On How To Disagree With Other Christians
The consciences of Christians are remarkably similar, since we all have the same Word and the same Spirit. But on the edges of conscience, God has always allowed Christians a surprising degree of latitude in personal scruples. Paul didn’t command the stricter Christians of Romans 14 to get with the program and start eating meat as Jesus allowed. Nor did he command the meat-eaters to end their carnivorous ways on the outside chance they might upset the vegetarians. He expected them to get along until Jesus returned....But human nature being what it is, the stricter group was always tempted to judge those they saw as too free (“And they call themselves Christians!”), while the free group tended to look down on those with unnecessary restrictions (“those poor legalists!”). Fortunately, Paul condemned both attitudes.
Aaron Earls: The Selfishness Behind Environmentalists’ Call for Fewer Children
Selfishness is much more palatable when you can cast as concern, but strip away the faux outrage and it’s always there under the surface. That is illustrated once again by the reaction to a recent study that argues the best way to fight climate change is by having fewer children. More than recycling, using an electric car, eating a plant-based diet,  according to this study, having one fewer child has a much larger reduction of CO2 production...The issue is about less humans so those of us already living have more resources.
Joe Thorn: Entertainment and Worship
....One of the more dangerous drifts happening in our local churches today is within our corporate worship. In many churches there is a de-emphasis on the means of grace (Scripture, prayer, and the sacraments or ordinances), and a reliance on entertainment. Some try to balance the two in the name of reaching more people with the gospel, but there is an inescapable danger in overvaluing entertainment and implementing it in corporate worship.  This is not a new phenomenon. The nineteenth-century pastor Charles Spurgeon said....
Sarah Walton: To Parents with Special Needs
....This is for the family who has been given the responsibility of raising a child with a behavioral or neurological disorder....While you may not have experienced this personally, my hope is that I can encourage those parents who are hurting and feeling alone as they navigate the uncharted waters of special needs. At the same time, I hope to bring awareness to others, that they might be more sensitive to those around them.  If you are a parent with a child with special needs, this is what I’d like you to know.
Kent Brandenburg: The Role of the Attack on Spanking in Worldwide Apostasy
....Since Proverbs says that the rod and reproof give wisdom, the world, the flesh, and the devil oppose both the rod and reproof, but especially the rod.  Many times parents won't spank their children in a biblical way, but it is possible that the day is near that they can't.  Today the practice is chilled by various child protective services.
Melissa Edgington: There is a Better Way to Experience Sexuality, and Christian Parents Need to Be Talking About It
.....We have to teach our kids that one of the greatest gifts of God is the intimacy between a man and a woman who have committed themselves to loving every inch of each other’s heart and soul. We have to teach them that great sex is safe sex, in the arms of the person who has vowed to hold us up when we need it, who has promised that no illness or accident, no outside interest, no schemes of this world will separate us. We have to show them what it looks like to be in love.
David Cloud: A Warning About Professional Sports
The more I have meditated upon the topic of professional sports, the more disgusted I have become. This is not to say I have not found enjoyment from sports in general...There is a tremendous amount of misplaced enthusiasm, money, and time being spent upon the vanities of this life by those who profess the name of Christ. There can be some value in sports but it is a dangerous thing and easily becomes an idol. May God help us redeem the time while we have the opportunity.

Todd Starnes: ABC News Christians Who Defend Religious Liberty Are 'Hate Group'
Alliance Defending Freedom is demanding a retraction and apology from ABC News after reporters smeared one of the nation’s most respected religious liberty law firms as a ‘hate group.’ ABC News reporters Pete Madden and Erin Galloway wrote a scathing report on a speech Attorney General Jeff Sessions delivered behind closed doors at the Summit on Religious Liberty at the Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point, California. “Jeff Sessions addresses ‘anti-LGBT hate group,’ but DOJ won’t release his remarks,” read the explosive headline.
Breitbart News: Papal Advisers Bash American Christians in Bigoted Screed
In a peculiar, rambling essay, papal adviser Father Antonio Spadaro SJ has caricatured white southern evangelicals as well as conservative American Catholics as ignorant, theocratic, Manichean, war-mongering fanatics anxiously awaiting the apocalypse. It is “these religious groups that are composed mainly of whites from the deep American South” that push conflicts and justify belligerence, while favoring the Old Testament “rather than be guided by the incisive look, full of love, of Jesus in the Gospels.”

Aaron Klein: Temple Mount Terrorist Attack Follows UNESCO Anti-Israel Vote On Jerusalem
It cannot be ignored that today’s deadly Palestinian terrorist attack at the Temple Mount comes less than two weeks after the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed an anti-Israel resolution declaring Jerusalem’s Old City and its ancient walls to be “occupied” and scandalously listed the areas as Palestinian heritage sites. And the attack on the Mount – Judaism’s holiest site – comes one week after UNESCO passed an anti-Israel resolution singling out another holy site.

Breitbart News: More Christian Refugees Arriving under Trump than Muslims
Under President Donald Trump, more Christian refugees have been admitted to the United States in the first six months of 2017 than Muslim refugees, a departure from the Obama-era. Since Trump took office in January through June 30, nearly 9,600 refugees who are affiliated with the Christian faith have been resettled in the U.S., accounting for roughly 50 percent of all refugee resettlements, according to research by Pew.
Jerry Newcombe: Hate Speech and the Salem Witch Trials
Perhaps, the most overused word in America is "hate." All you have to do is accuse someone who disagrees with you of hate, and that's it: guilty as charged. Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean even famously said recently that "hate speech" is not protected by the First Amendment. This is like the modern equivalent of the horrible anti-witch hysteria in Salem in 1692-1693. If you were accused of being a witch, then you were virtually guilty. Twenty were accused and executed for supposedly being a witch.
Archaeologist Uncovers Clues Pointing Towards Evidence of Naboth’s Vineyard
“As an archaeologist, I cannot say that there was definitely a specific man named Naboth who had a particular vineyard,” Dr Franklin told Breaking Israel News. “The story is very old but from what I have found, I can say that the story as described in the Bible quite probably could have occurred here in the Jezreel.”

Anyone surprised about it, should get used to seeing and hearing a lot more displays of evangelical fervor in and around the White House.
Jonah Goldberg: The Rhetoric of Climate-Change Alarmists Grows Ever More Hysterical
One of the hallmarks of the “Ugly American” is the habit of thinking foreigners will understand what you’re saying if just shout it louder and louder. The picture was posted by Johnnie Moore, a former senior vice president at Liberty University, a large evangelical university in Virginia.
National Review: Oregon's Radical, Grisly Abortion Law
Once upon a time, Democrats wanted abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare.” Today, that mantra is “unregulated, on demand, and” — in the state of Oregon — “free.” Oregon is preparing to enact a law that would force all Oregon insurers to cover abortions, whatever the reason, at no cost to patients. House Bill 3391-B compels insurers, public or private, to provide a whole swathe of “reproductive services” free of cost and regardless of income, insurance type, citizenship status, or gender identity.

Conservative Daily News: Now Even Jesus Christ is a Symbol of Hate to the Radical Left
The totalitarian left is hellbent at redefining everything that they do not approve of as hate speech and not even Jesus Christ is safe. Americans will soon need to make a decision on exactly how far that they are going to allow the left to go in declaring everything that they disapprove of as a hate crime. Such views have led to the rise of some of them most repressive regimes in world history and today’s left is showing signs of becoming a cult that in many aspects, mimics early Nazi Germany and the crushing of free speech. Last week, someone left a painting of the Christian Lord and Savior on a fence outside of a Long Island mosque which authorities are.....

The church’s positivity ratings are more than twice as high as the lowest-rated institution, the media, which 28% of Americans view positively and 63% negatively.

SBC Voices: Baptists and Numbers 'It's Complicated'
There can be little doubt that the New Testament was written by Baptists. The Apostles counted the crowds that Jesus fed with the loaves and fish and carefully quantified the leftovers....We modern Baptists, like the Baptists in Jerusalem and Antioch and Ephesus, love our numbers. If it can’t be counted, quantified,  and statistically analyzed, can it truly be counted as a work of God?

Happiness From Being Generous Has a Neural Basis Within the Brain
What inspires humans to display acts of generosity? Economists, psychologists and philosophers have pondered this question for millennia. If one assumes that human behavior is primarily motivated by self-interest, it seems illogical to willingly sacrifice resources for others. In an attempt to solve this paradox, some experts have theorized that giving satisfies a desire to boost one's standing in....

Michael Snyder: Dying Middle Class The Number Of Americans That Can’t Afford Their Own Homes Has More Than Doubled
Have you lost your spot in the middle class yet?  For years I have been documenting all of the numbers that show that the middle class in America has been steadily shrinking, and we just got another one.  According to a report that was produced by researchers at Harvard University, the number of Americans that spend more than 30 percent of their incomes on housing has more than doubled.  In 2001, nearly 16 million Americans couldn’t afford the homes that they were currently living in, but by 2015 that figure had jumped to 38 million. When I write about “economic collapse”, I am writing about a process that has been unfolding for decades in this country.  Back in the early 1970s, well over 60 percent of all Americans were considered to be “middle class”, but now that number has fallen below 50 percent.  Never before in our history has the....
