....Although using games for harmless diversion and amusement may be a lawful use of leisure for Christians, there are some real spiritual dangers associated with gaming.

Imagine with me that on Christmas morning, one of the gifts you receive is a small box. You hold it in your hands, and it isn’t very heavy. Inside you find a key. Would you be excited?

...You see, we are often taught to be on guard for enemies outside of the church but often the most destructive people are, as the Israelites experienced, those within our midst.

...We are either moving into winter or out of it and into summer. These are the seasons of life. Some winters are hard. Some are harder than others. But God gives us winters in order that grace might grow.

Jesus was born when “the time came.” The time came, not just for the fulfillment of Mary’s pregnancy, but for the fulfillment of God’s pre-world plan to become a divine human being.

...We owe Jesus everything. He owes us nothing. But that doesn’t keep God from choosing to serve us, His servants. Jesus served us when He died for us.

We are all familiar with the story of Christmas, but let’s dig a little deeper into this season that points to Jesus, the perfect Savior, who entered the world at the perfect time to save imperfect humanity.

...We Christians have failed often and sometimes miserably to make a full use of Christ’s gift of peace. But Christ’s achievement and gift of peace remains, even if neglected or rejected. 

This time of year, it’s important to lift our gaze from earth to Heaven. Don’t focus on trees, lights, and presents. Instead, fix your gaze on the higher reality those things point to: Christ.
